How do I place a hold on library materials?

A hold is a reservation for a particular item in the library's collection. You must have a valid library card to place a hold.You may place a hold in person at the library, by phone or through the library's online ibistro catalogue.When the item becomes available, library staff will contact you by phone. At that point, you are given 5 days to visit the library and pick up the item being held.

How do I place a hold using the iBistro online catalogue?

To place a hold:

  1. From the Details Summary page of the material you want, select Place A Hold.
  2. Type in your user ID (your library card number).
  3. Type in your PIN.
  4. Choose the library branch where you want to pick up the item.
  5. Click Place A Hold to place the hold or Reset to start over.

How do I cancel a hold on the iBistro online catalogue?

To cancel a hold:

  1. Select My Account from the rootbar on t he home/search page of ibistro
  2. Select Review My Account.
  3. Enter your user ID and your PIN.
  4. Click Display User Information to view your account or Reset to start over.
  5. Under Holds, select the checkboxes for the hold items to be cancelled.
  6. Click Cancel Selected Holds to cancel the selected holds.

If a book or other material is not available in the Wellington County Library system, is it possible to obtain it?

Yes! Wellington County Library is a member of the province-wide information network INFO and can request materials from other library systems in Ontario. Contact library staff for assistance.
