How many items can I borrow from the library?

There is a maximum of 50 items borrowed per card. There are no limits by type of item (book, magazine, CD, DVD etc.). Picture 1

How long may I borrow materials?

Lightning Loans, DVDs, Videos, Magazines & CD-ROMs are on loan for 1 week. All other materials are on loan for 3 weeks. An item can be renewed once if no one has requested it.

How can I find out when my library materials are due?

You may ask staff at any of the library branches in person or by phone or by reviewing your account on the Library's online ibistro catalogue.

How do I see what materials I have on my card using the eLibrary online catalogue ?

To Review Your Account:

  1. Select My Account from the rootbar on the home/search page of eLibrary
  2. Select Review My Account.
  3. Enter your user ID (your library card number) and your PIN.
  4. Click Display User Information to view your account or Reset to start over.

Must I return materials I have borrowed to the branch where I got them?

Library materials may be returned to any Wellington County Library branch. After hours return chutes are available at each branch for all library materials.

What are the fines on overdue materials?

Fines are:

  • Books (except Lightning Loans), music CDs, Magazines, Books on tape, Books on CD and Pedometers: 25 cents per day per item. $5.00 maximum per item.
  • Lightning Loans,DVDs, and CD-ROMS: $1.00 per day per item. $5.00 maximum per item.

Can I renew my library materials?

Materials may be renewed in person at the circulation desk of any branch, by phoning any library branch, or on the Internet through "My Account" in the library's on-line catalogue, eLibrary. If there is a hold for another patron on an item, or if you have already renewed the item three times, you will not be allowed to renew it.

How do I renew materials using the eLibrary online catalogue?

To renew materials:

  1. Select My Account from the rootbar of the home/search page of eLibrary.
  2. Select Renew My Materials.
  3. Enter your user ID (your library card number)and your PIN.
  4. Click List Charged items to view items available for renewal or Reset to start over.
  5. Click the Renew Selected Items or the Renew All radio button
  6. Click Renew Selected Items to renew your materials or Clear Selections to start over.

Must I pay my fines before I can take out library materials?

When a borrower has over $5.00 in fines and/or replacement charges, borrowing privileges will be suspended until the fines are paid.

What do I do if I have accidentally damaged or lost library material?

For material lost or damaged beyond repair, as determined by library staff, you will be charged the cost of replacing the item plus a $3.00 processing fee. If at a later time, a lost item is found and returned, at the Branch Supervisors discretion, you will be refunded the cost of the item upon presentation of payment receipt and item.

What are Lightning Loans?

Lightning Loans are current adult fiction bestsellers. You can only borrow them for 7 days and you cannot renew them. Lightning Loans are not available for holds, but there are other copies available that you can place holds on.
