Teen Reading

Here are some great book reviews from our Teen Summer Reading Challenge participants!

In The After by Demitria Lunetta Reviewed by Jennie

This book is full of adventure, supernatural activity and mystery! I love this book and I would highly recommend it. Once you start reading you won’t be able to put it down!

The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare Reviewed by Emily

The book City of Bones was a really great book.  It was about a girl named Clary who finds out she is a shadow hunter.  She has to learn all about her past that she never knew about.  This book has a lot of action and plot twists, and a building romance.  Overall I really liked the book.

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare Reviewed by Taylor

City of Heavenly Fire is the final book in the Mortal Instruments series. This story follows Clary and her friends who are on a journey to defeat her evil brother and stop the Dark War against the Endarkened and Shadow Hunters. City of Heavenly Fire is the perfect mix of action, romance and magic that will leave you unable to put it down.

And Nothing but the Truth by Kit Pearson Reviewed by Athena

And Nothing but the Truth was exciting and the characters got more dramatic. In The Whole Truth, Polly and Maud must keep a horrifying secret and adjust to life on the island. But in And Nothing but the Truth, an even more stupendous secret must be kept while Polly struggles with boarding school. I loved this book.

Gated by Amy Christine Carter

This book is about a girl named Lyla Hamilton who believes she is “Chosen” and lives with others in a community away from the evil of the world.  When she is faced with the truth she must decide what to do. This novel is about a girl who must stand up for what she knows. She must be brave and courageous. I really like the story line but was a little disappointed near the end. Overall I enjoyed the suspense in this novel.
