Minto Mayor George Bridge Elected Wellington County Warden 2015-2016

GUELPH - At its annual inaugural meeting today, George Bridge, Mayor for the Town of Minto, was elected to the position of Warden by Wellington County Council. Warden Bridge will follow in his father Milton Bridge’s political footsteps. Milton Bridge served as County Warden in 1986.

Warden Bridge has represented the constituents of Minto, and has served on County Council, since 2010. Warden Bridge is the past Chair of the Wellington County Economic Development Committee and has also served on the Administration, Finance and Personnel Committee. In addition to his experience as Mayor and a County Councillor, Warden Bridge also worked in the financial industry for TD Canada Trust for over 30 years.

Past County of Wellington Warden Chris White, remarked “I look forward to working under Warden Bridge’s direction. His effective leadership on the Economic Development Committee has prepared him for his role as Warden. Wellington County is in very capable hands for 2015-2016.”

Scott Wilson, County of Wellington Chief Administrative Officer, is looking forward Warden Bridge’s leadership. “George brings a lot of experience to the role of Warden. His hard work, dedication and commitment to serving County residents is commendable. County staff look forward to working with Warden Bridge.”
