Expanded Rural Collection

Posted on Monday May 09, 2016

County-wide bi-weekly rural collection will begin the week of July 4. Two blue boxes and information packages will be delivered during May and June to all rural households receiving the expanded service.

In each municipality, rural collection will take place on the same day as urban collection.

Tuesday – Mapleton and Minto

Wednesday – Centre Wellington

Thursday – Erin and Wellington North

Friday – Guelph/Eramosa and Puslinch

There will be a two-week schedule for the County. Municipalities will be split into week 1 and week 2 collection areas. The schedule will be made available as soon as our routing review is complete. The schedule will be included in the information package.

In addition there will be a collection route map included in the information package. This map will show you which side of the road to place your materials on. Rural areas are collected on one side of the road, except on Wellington County Roads and Provincial Highways.

The changes to collection may affect collection routes in urban and rural areas of the County. We ask that everyone be diligent in placing garbage and blue boxes to the road or curbside by 7:00am to ensure you are not missed. Collection can take place any time between 7:00am and 6:00pm.

We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this transition to full rural collection.
