Electronics Event Days

There are two Electronics Recycling Event Days this year, one in each municipality without a waste facility within its borders. Electronics are accepted at no charge. The County partners with local food banks to collect donations at each event.

Our contractor, Greentec, collects and processes the electronic wastes.  They recover metals, glass and plastics for recycling.  A full list of acceptable items is available on Greentec's website.

In 2014, in addition to diverting 9,242 kg (20,375 lb) of electronic waste, generous participants also donated 183 kg (402 lb) of food and cash to grateful local food banks.

All event days are on Saturdays. They are from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm in the parking lot of the following locations:

Note:  Household Hazardous Wastes will also be accepted at this event day!

 Popular food bank requests include:

  • canned vegetables, fruit, chili, stew, soups (particularly vegetable, mushroom, chicken noodle), hearty soups, meat or fish
  • rice, pasta and sauce, dried side dishes (Hamburger Helper, Sidekicks etc.)
  • peanut butter, jam
  • children's lunch snacks, canned fruit, granola bars 
  • non-sugared cereal, oatmeal
  • baby supplies, such as formula (Similac, Nestle Good Start, Nestle All Soy), diapers (sizes 3 to 6), Pullups, baby food
  • cookies, crackers, microwave popcorn
  • baking supplies
  • juice (canned and drink boxes), skim milk powder, coffee, tea
  • condiments, margerine 
  • toiletries, such as razors, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, adult Depends, tooth brushes, soap etc.
  • toilet paper, paper towels, tissues
  • cleaning supplies, dish detergent 
  • large and small sandwich bags

Please watch expiry dates so donations don't have to be discarded.  Thank you.
