Scholarships and Bursaries

Wellington County Council approved a Bursary/Scholarship Programme in 2008.

The application form, accompanied by a copy of an Official Transcript, must be submitted to the County Deputy Clerk by August 31st.

COUNTY OF WELLINGTON POLICY BURSARY/SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME  

DEPARTMENT: C.A.O./CLERK'S  

EFFECTIVE DATE: June 1, 2008

AUTHORITY: Wellington County Council  

PURPOSE:

To establish a set of guidelines for applications received for the Wellington County Bursary/Scholarship Programme. The purpose of this programme is to provide financial assistance for students within our community who are entering or enrolled in college or university.

PROCEDURES:

The following criteria will apply for the County Bursary/Scholarship Programme:

  1. The applicant must be a resident within Wellington County.
  2. The applicant must be pursuing studies at a post secondary level.
  3. The applicant must have a proven record of involvement in the community.
  4. Applicants applying for a scholarship must have an overall average of 75% upon graduation.
  5. Applicants applying for a bursary must clearly demonstrate in writing financial need.
  6. Successful applicants will be required to forward their Social Insurance Number to Wellington County to recieve award.
