Wedding Festival at Museum Sunday, September 11

Posted On Thursday September 08, 2022

ABOYNE, ON – Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) hosts the Wedding Festival this Sunday, September 11. The event will showcase wedding stories from Wellington County and around the world, highlighting different cultural traditions and attire.

Event attendees are encouraged to come dressed for the occasion – wedding dresses, suits, bridesmaid dresses (tacky or not), ruffled tuxedos, and ring bearer outfits are all welcome at this all ages celebration.

“The Wedding Festival ties into the current Here Comes the Bride exhibit,” says Hailey Johnston, WCMA Curator. “We’ll share stories, photos, and clothing from the museum’s collection, but attendees will also have the opportunity to share their stories and outfits.”

The Wedding Festival will also include live music, food and drink, games and crafts for children, and a free photo booth.

Pre-registration is not required to attend – all are welcome to join the festivities on Sunday, September 11, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

The WCMA is located at 536 Wellington Road 18 in Aboyne (between Fergus and Elora).
