Winter Parking Reminder

WELLINGTON COUNTY - This year has seen an early start to the "season of snow" and with it an increased demand to keep our roads clear. A municipal by-law prohibits overnight parking on streets through the winter for this specific reason. OPP would like to remind everyone of some of the parking bylaws that exist in Wellington County.
- No parking upon a street (or municipal parking) lot between the hours of 2:00am and 6:00am of any day during the months of November, December, January, February and March.
- No parking in front of (or within 1 metre) of a driveway. Whether it's yours or not.
- No parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant.
- No parking with left wheels to the curb or edge of the street.
- No parking more than 0.15 metres from the curb or edge of the street.
- No parking on a street (or municipal parking) for a period longer than 24 consecutive hours.
- No parking on or over a sidewalk.
- No parking within 9 metres of an intersection, pedestrian crossover or crosswalk.
- No parking in a school bus loading zone.
- No parking on the street for the purpose of repairing, washing or maintenance a vehicle.
- No parking within 15 metres of any railroad crossing.
- No parking in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic or the clearing of snow from the street.
- No stopping in a school bus loading zone.
- No stopping with left wheels to the curb of the street.
