Berry Picking

While our fresh berry season might be quite short, it is so delicious, so don't miss it! Here is the seasonal availability for some of the most popular Ontario Berries:

  • Strawberries: June and July
  • Raspberries: July until September
  • Blueberries: (high bush): July and August
  • Goosberries: July and August
  • Currants: July and August
  • Haskap: June and July

You can find them at your local farmers' markets, farm gate or try your hand at U-Pick.

Here are some great locations to pick your own (PYO). Make sure you call ahead or watch the farms' social media feed for up to date information on the U-pick. Availability can change quickly, depending on the weather.

This berry and flower farm has a lot to offer. Beside berries, they carry a variety of other items for sale at their farm gate stall including asparagus, potatoes, beets, carrots, squash, pumpkins, tomatoes, beans, peas, flowers, honey, and jam, to name a few. Please note it is cash sales only and no pets.

Strawberries
Ignatius Farm has evolved to become a model for organic agriculture and the mentoring of organic growers. You can enjoy their u-pick strawberries starting at the end of June. They also offer a community shared agriculture (CSA) programme, and community garden plots.
