Camp at the Museum!

Welcome to Camp! The Wellington County Museum and Archives offers both PD Day Camp and Summer Camp that encourages campers to learn while having fun building crafts, exploring experiments, and playing games.

Camp Information

The Wellington County Museum and Archives offers pre-registration programmes throughout the school year and summer months. The PD Day Camp days are based on the Upper Grand District School Board calendar. We hold Summer Day Camp one week in each month of the summer, one in July and one in August.

All camp programming is designed and offered to children from ages of 6 – 10.

Camp is based on a first come, first served basis and participation cannot be confirmed until after a registration form is completed and payment is received.

Summer Camp

Monday to Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm, drop off between 8:30am and 9:00am, and pick up between 4:00pm and 4:30pm (early drop off and late pick up available)

PD Day Camp

Based on Upper Grand District school schedule, 9:00am – 4:00pm, drop off between 8:30am and 9:00am, and pick up between 4:00pm and 4:30pm (early drop off and late pick up available)

From Farm to Table - July 11 to 15, 2022 (Full)

Where do all of our favourite foods come from? This week campers will explore the work that goes into caring for farm animals and crops. How do crops grow and how does wheat turn into bread? Learn the value of where your food comes from through play and hands-on activities.

Wild West Quests - July 18 to 22, 2022 (Full)

There’s gold in these here parts, what are you willing to do to get it? Campers have been challenged to survive new lands and find their fortune. Careful, there are unforeseen weather patterns, creatures and unknowns out there. It is time to band together as a team and learn to survive in the Wild West!

Myths and Legends - July 25 to 29, 2022 (Full)

Goblins, fairies and the great unknown, we are built from these stories. This week campers will have fun delving deeper into these stories and create their own. Build fairy homes, become fire breathing dragons and swim with mermaids this week.

Raiders of the Lost Artifact - August 8 to 12, 2022 (Full)

If you have ever wondered what we do at the museum, now is your chance to find out! Campers will get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to look after a museum and its artifacts. They will explore how an exhibit is developed while making their own pop-up display! Time to become Raiders of the Lost Artifact!

Colour Me Crazy - August 15 to 19, 2022 (Full)

What’s your favourite colour? It’s time to get our art on at Summer Camp and play with all the colours of the spectrum. Be creative, try new things and explore how to use colour in different ways!

Rainforest Adventures - August 22 to 26, 2022 (Full)

Did you know that there are over 3 million different animal species that live in rainforests? Rainforests are vibrant ecosystems that support plants, animals and humans alike. What could this diverse ecosystem teach us? Campers will explore what makes these places so important to Earth and have some fun while doing it.
