Mamma: In the Meantime

April 11 to June 2, 2019

Talk and Tour with Tony Luciani: Sunday, June 2, 2:30pm

Mamma: In the Meantime is a powerful new exhibit that explores the challenges of ageing, caregiving, and living with dementia. Through a series of photographs, paintings, and videos, Durham artist Tony Luciani tells the story of his mother, Elia, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2014.

According to Luciani, “This project delves into her dementia and the angst she feels about being old now. It also speaks about life, love, endurance and willpower. It talks about the love a mother and child have in sharing moments that are too quickly vanishing.

Presented in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce
