Pandemonium! Illustrating the COVID-19 Pandemic
Coming April 2022
The COVID-19 pandemic has been especially difficult for children and youth, who have faced the challenges of online learning, social isolation from family and friends, a lack of recreational activities, and more. The WCMA is inviting kids of all ages to share their experiences of the pandemic by sending us a piece of art, a photograph, poem, story, song, personal reflection, or any other creative piece that tells us how COVID-19 has affected their life.
Drop off your submission to the Museum by April 1, 2022 for a chance to be included in our upcoming exhibit Pandemonium! Illustrating the COVID-19 Pandemic. For more information, please email Emily Foster, Programming Assistant. Please note that depending on the volume of submissions received, not all pieces will be included in the exhibit or added to the collection.
Some questions to consider to help you create your piece:
Did you get a "pandemic puppy" in the last two years? Send us a photo!
How did the pandemic make you feel?
What did you do during lockdown to keep from getting bored?
Did you start a new hobby or any new family activities because of the pandemic?
Did your parents try cutting your hair when salons were closed? How did it turn out?
What was the hardest part of the pandemic? The best part?
Did you celebrate a birthday, graduation, or other milestone during the pandemic? What was that like?
What did you miss during COVID-19 that you're most looking forward to when life gets "back to normal"?
