January 12 - March 12, 2023
Quiet Moments celebrates the beauty and wonder of the Elora Gorge, Grand River, and Irvine Creek through the work of renowned artist Barry McCarthy and famed Elora photographer John Connon (1862-1931). These two men explored the Gorge over one hundred years apart, and each capture the wonder and beauty of this beloved local landmark in unique and beautiful ways. McCarthy and Connon show us the splendour of the Gorge in all four seasons, offering birds-eye-views and humbling ground-level perspectives that emphasize the scale and raw beauty of the Gorge and surrounding area.
Join us for an opening reception at the Wellington County Museum and Archives on Thursday, January 12 from 7:00-9:00pm. Enjoy light refreshments and a cash bar. Admission by donation, all are welcome.
