The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the municipality and ensures programmes and services are delivered efficiently and effectively. The CAO also ensures policies and directions of Council are implemented and advises and informs Council on the operation and affairs of the municipality.

Office of the County Clerk

The Office of the County Clerk provides legislative and administrative support to matters and decisions of Council; provides procedural advice and administrative aid to Council and the Chief Administrative Officer, and ensures the statutory requirements of the Municipal Act are met. The County Clerk also directs the Information Technology Department.

The Office is the lead contact for county councillors, members of the public, other government offices when dealing with Committee and Council issues. The Warden as the head of the County has delegated the day-to-day responsibility for managing Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) to the County Clerk. The office also assists the CAO in coordinating inter-departmental issues/projects.

Information Technology Services

What we do:

The Communications team works closely with County Council, departmental staff and partner organizations. Together we promote the many ways that Wellington is a great place to live, work and visit.

What we do:

  • Design quality publications such as advertisements, brochures, displays, posters, etc.
  • Facilitate media relations

Economic Develoment

The Economic Development team works to facilitate the growth and prosperity of the local economy within our municipality and promote the County of Wellington as a destination to work, live and invest. This department is responsible for managing local market information, providing business support services, and fostering economic growth within the County. By supporting local business initiatives our Economic Development department works to ensure an overall increase in business development and local employment.

Property and Construction

The Property and Construction Services department is responsible for all construction, maintenance and property service duties for all County of Wellington properties and buildings. These duties include, but are not limited to, managing the repair and upkeep of all buildings and grounds, maintaining maintenance schedules, and leading special construction projects as they arise.
