Tire collection at County waste facilities is temporarily paused, effective July 1 2026. This is the result of changes in Ontario tire regulations and tires not being removed from County waste facilities in a timely manner. All waste facilities are currently at capacity and can no longer accept tires from residents. Once the current backlog of tires is removed, acceptance of tires will resume.
There is a list of Ontario tire collection locations available on the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) website - enter your postal code to find additional tire collection locations near you.
Tires from Businesses
Tires from businesses are not accepted at our waste facilities. Please go to the RPRA website to find a tire hauler and determine if your business needs to register as a collector.
Go Green!
Bringing your used tires to a registered collector keeps them from being burned or landfilled. Tires collected under the RPRA programme will be recycled into new products such as under-the-hood automotive products, flooring, sports fields, playground surfaces, and construction-related equipment and materials.
