Evening and Weekend Dining Room Assistance

 We are looking for volunteer assistance in our resident dining rooms for all weekend and evening meals. In this role, you would be assisting residents who can no longer assist themselves at mealtime. This shift would consist of 1.5 hours any evening between 5pm and 6:30pm, or any weekend meal (8am to 9:30am, 12pm to 1:30pm or 5pm to 6:30pm)


One to One Visits

We are looking for volunteers to provide visits with some of our residents who would enjoy companionship on a regular basis. Some of our male residents would enjoy chatting with male volunteers, in particular.  Day and time can be flexible


Supporting a Hymn Sing Programme

We are looking for a volunteer to support a weekly Hymn Sing on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30am


Supporting Bus Outings

We are looking for a volunteer to support our Recreation Therapists with bus outings every other Saturday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm


Facilitating a Tea Social

We are looking for a volunteer to facilitate a weekly Tea Social; this could be Wednesdays or Sundays at 10:00am or any afternoon at 4:00pm


Facilitating a Ladies Afternoon

We are looking for a volunteer to facilitate a weekly Ladies Social on Fridays from 1:30 – 3:00pm.  This is a small group of ladies who enjoy chatting together. In the good weather they would enjoy strolls outside as well


Manicure Visits

We are looking for several volunteers to visit with residents weekly and provide them with manicures on the following days:  Friday mornings, Friday afternoons, or any time on Mondays.


Supporting a Drum Fit Exercise Programme on Fridays

We are looking for a volunteer to support our Recreation Therapist and Physiotherapy Assistant with their weekly Drum Fit programme on Friday afternoons from 1:30-2:45pm. This is fun and high energy exercise activity for some of our residents living in one of our Dementia Care neighbourhoods.


Biking Buddy Programme

We are very fortunate to own several accessible bicycles that volunteers can take residents out for rides on the local trail by our Home. This is a very rewarding and physical role for volunteers 18 years of age and older that takes place between mid-May and mid- October each year


Golf Cart Rides

We are looking for volunteers to accompany our Recreation Therapists and a small group of residents on weekly golf cart rides on Tuesday afternoons from 1:30-3:00pm, or on Friday mornings from 9:45-11:00am.  This role is dependent on weather.
