About the Project
On March 29th 2018, County Council supported a recommendation to investigate the need for seniors housing in Wellington County. A particular interest was expressed in a “Continuum of Care” model which allows seniors to select the kind of housing that best serves them, while providing services and amenities that will assist them to remain independent and supported as their needs increase.
County Council supported the motion to conduct a feasibility study in the County of Wellington to determine if there would be an interest within the senior population for a Continuum of Care facility. To gauge the public's needs, the County organized an information session in each member municipality, conducted a series of stakeholder interviews, and distributed a comprehensive survey to all County residents to learn more about their preferences and needs.
