Central to Reaching IN...Reaching OUTᴼᴹ (RIRO) is the importance of relationships and role modeling in creating a culture of resilience. These key components are embedded in all of our skills trainings and are brought to life through the important role of our RIRO, as well as BBT Trainers. Our trainers role model resiliency skills in action, and use their facilitation skills to enhance group dynamics and offer supportive relationships to participants during their training experiences. To help develop these facilitation skills and to ensure the fidelity of RIRO and BBT skills training, we have developed a Trainer Intensive Programme to provide our trainers with the necessary knowledge, and on-going training support to successfully bring RIRO / BBT skills training programmes to their individual communities. Only trainers authorized by the County of Wellington Resiliency Lead Trainer are able to deliver RIRO / BBT resiliency skills training programmes.
To become an authorized RIRO / BBT Trainer, interested individuals complete a series of training components. These include:
- Completion of RIRO 12-hours Resiliency Skills Training
- Participation in the RIRO/BBT Trainer-Intensive, facilitated by the County of Wellington Resiliency Lead Trainer, whereby trainers receive working knowledge of the RIRO/BBT skills training programmes, and get hands-on experience with facilitation and content delivery skills
The Trainer Intensive Programme will prepare future trainers for the delivery of RIRO and/or BBT resiliency skills training within their organizations and communities.
Upon completion of the Trainer Intensive Programme newly authorized trainers receive:
- Access to RIRO / BBT curriculum training resources
- A comprehensive set of materials that equip trainers to market and provide resiliency skills training programmes
- On-going mentorship and support for trainers as they initiate and deliver the skills training in their communities.
