We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Children's Early Years is a division of the Social Services department with the Corporation of the County of Wellington. We are one of 47 Consolidated Municipal Service Managers/District Social Services Administrative Boards in Ontario that are contracted by the Ministry of Education to plan and manage the early years system. The early years system includes licensed child care and child and family support programmes.

The Children's Early Years Division is responsible for preparing Child Care and Early Years service plans for our service delivery area (Wellington and Guelph). These planning documents provide an overview of the existing child care and early years services and describe our plans for improvements to the system. The 2015-2018 Child Care plan includes how we are transitioning licensed child care into a high quality early learning and child care system.

We also lead the Birth to Six Planning Working Group to plan and manage child and family support systems which became part of our services as of January 2018.

The Children's Early Years Division produces many related documents that support our service plans

Early years operators meetings

The Children's Early Years Division holds a meeting for all early years service providers within the wellington service delivery area. These meetings include updates on the early years system and funding. There are also updates from the Ministry of Education.

All early years service providers in Wellington County and in Guelph are welcome to come to the meetings.
