College of Early Childhood Educators

The College of Early Childhood Educators (College) regulates and governs Ontario's Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) in the public interest.

The College regulates the profession of early childhood education by establishing and enforcing: ​College of Early Childhood Educators Logo

  • Registration requirements;
  • Ethical and professional standards for RECEs;
  • Requirements for continuous professional learning; and
  • Complaints and discipline process for professional misconduct, incompetence and incapacity.

CPL Program

The College's Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program complements and formalizes the ongoing professional learning of RECEs. The CPL program provides a framework and formal process to help RECEs increase their knowledge and skills to ensure quality professional practice throughout their careers.
