Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the services provided by Settlement Services staff, individuals must meet one of the following criterions:

  • Permanent resident of Canada who has not become a Canadian citizen Father and son
  • Protected persons as defined by Section 95 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Individuals who have been selected, in Canada or overseas, to become permanent residents
  • Convention refugees and protected persons overseas who have been selected for resettlement in Canada
  • Live-in caregivers

The County of Wellington regrets that we are unable to provide Settlement assistance to prospective newcomers overseas.  Eligibility for this programme is provided after arrival in Canada.
