Housing Providers

The County of Wellington provides support and legislative oversight to 21 non-profit housing providers and housing co-operatives located in the County of Wellington and the City of Guelph.

Non-Profit Housing Corporations

Non-profit housing corporations are owned and operated by community-based organizations and are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

There are 17 non-profit housing providers in Wellington County and Guelph. Most of these provide housing to market rent tenants as well as households that pay geared-to-income rent. Market rent applicants apply directly to the non-profit.

Co-operative Housing Corporations

Living in a housing co-operative means that you are a member of the corporation that owns and manages the housing community. The governing Board of Directors is established from members of the co-operative. Co-operative members are expected to participate in the operation of their community.

There are 4 housing co-operatives in Guelph which offer both rent-geared-to-income and market rent housing.  Market rent applicants apply directly to the housing co-operative.
