Create Your Candidate Profile - External Candidates
- Click on My Candidate Profile near the top right of the page.
- Select Create an Account and complete the required fields.
- Click on the Terms of Use and accept the Privacy Statement.
- Click on the Create Account button.
- Complete your profile by uploading your resume, cover letter and additional documents in the My Documents section.
- Complete the Profile Information, Work Experience and Formal Education sections.
- When you are finished, click on Save at the bottom of the page.
Access Your Candidate Profile - Internal Candidates
- From The Well, click on Employment Opportunities.
- Select My Account and click My Candidate Profile.
- Complete your profile by uploading your resume, cover letter and additional documents in the My Documents section.
- Complete the Profile Information, Work Experience and Formal Education sections.
- When you are finished, click on Save at the bottom of the page
Delete your Candidate Profile
- Sign in to your Candidate Profile.
- Click on Options and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Click on Delete Profile at the bottom right.
Password Management
To change your password:
- Sign in to your Candidate Profile.
- Click on Options and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Enter your new password and select Change Password at the bottom left.
To reset your password:
- Click on the My Candidate Profile tab.
- Click on Forgot Your Password and enter your email address.
- Check your email for further instructions to reset your password.
Create a Job Alert
- Sign in to your Candidate Profile.
- Click on Options and select Job Alerts from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Create New Job Alert button.
- Enter the keywords for your alert in the Search by Keyword field – e.g. 'human resources'
- Select Preview Alert. This will allow you to preview the alert to view the types of jobs you will be notified for. You can modify your keywords as needed.
- If no results appear, it may be because there are no current jobs that match your keywords.
- Enter how often you want to be alerted (e.g. number of days).
- Select the Create Alert button. You will receive an email when a new job matching your keyword is posted.
Delete a Job Alert
- Sign in to your Candidate Profile.
- Select Options and then select Job Alerts.
- Click on the trash can icon for the job alert you wish to delete.
Search for Current Opportunities
- You do not need to have a Candidate Profile to search for current opportunities open to external applicants.
- Please note, if you are a current County of Wellington employee you must search for open internal opportunities through The Well, Employment Opportunities, logged in to “My Candidate Profile”.
- Select Current Opportunities along the top of the screen to view open positions.
- You can also search for open positions by entering a keyword in the Search all Employment Opportunities field.
Apply to Current Opportunities
- You need to have a Candidate Profile to apply to positions electronically. Alternatively, you can contact Human Resources by emailing us or calling 519.837.2600 x2150 to inquire about submitting a hardcopy resume.
- Please note, if you are a current County of Wellington employee you need to apply through The Well, Employment Opportunities.
- Select Current Opportunities along the top of the screen to view open positions.
- You can also search by entering a keyword in the Search all Employment Opportunities field.
Please Note:
- You can apply to multiple postings. If you update your resume or cover letter it will be attached to that application and the new version will replace the previous version saved in your Candidate Profile.
- You must apply to a position before midnight on the date the posting closes. Late applications will not be accepted.
- You will receive an email confirming your application was received.
- You will be contacted by email if you are selected for an interview. Please know that you may not be contacted for an interview even though you are qualified for the position. The County of Wellington receives a high volume of resumes for each advertised position and while you may be qualified for the position, in the County's view, there are other applicants whose qualifications and experience is greater than what has been presented in your application. We appreciate your interest in career opportunities at the County of Wellington and encourage you to continue to apply to positions that match your qualifications.
View Application Status
- Login to your Candidate Profile.
- Expand the Jobs Applied section. It will display all positions you have applied to.
Withdraw Your Application
- Applications can be withdrawn at any time that you are still being considered for the position.
- Login to your Candidate Profile.
- Expand the Jobs Applied section.
- Navigate to the application and click on the job title.
- Click the Withdraw Application button at the bottom left.
Schedule an Interview Time
- You will be contacted by email if selected for an interview. Follow the link provided in the email.
- To select an interview time, click on Select.
- You will see all the available time slots. Click on the available timeslot that works best for you.
- Click on Book Interview.
Cancel an Interview Time
- If you need to cancel your interview, login to your Candidate Profile.
- Click on Options and select My Interviews from the drop-down menu.
- Click on Cancel Interview.
- Include your reason for cancelling the interview in the Add a Note section before selecting Cancel Interview.
Reschedule an Interview
- If you need to reschedule your interview, login to your Candidate Profile.
- Click on Options and select My Interviews from the drop-down menu.
- If there is an interview time available that works for you, select it.
- If no available interview time works for you, click on the name under Your Contact to send an email to the recruiter.
References
- In advance of your interview, you will receive an email prompting you to provide two supervisory references.
- Click on the link provided in the email to be directed to the appropriate page.
- Under Job-Specific Information, go to the Reference Request Form section.
- Complete the required fields and click Update to submit.

Yes. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on the date of the application deadline.
All resume submissions will be acknowledged with an email confirming the receipt of your application. Additional correspondence from our office will be made by email only if you have been selected for an interview. No phone calls please.
Yes. Typically, we begin accepting applications for summer student positions in January of each year. In order to qualify for summer student employment, students must be currently attending a secondary or post-secondary institution on a full-time basis, and be returning to school on a full-time basis in the fall semester.
The County of Wellington typically posts for Snow Plow Driver positions in September of each year. We also typically post for Tree Nursery Worker positions in January of each year.
No. You do not need a Police Vulnerable Sector Check to apply for a job at the County of Wellington. However, if you are offered the position, you will be required to provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check if it is a requirement of the position.
Yes. We perform reference checks for all positions. You will typically be asked to provide the names of two supervisory references in advance of your interview.
