Notice of Public Meeting - Land Annexation

Proposed Restructuring under Section 172 and 173 of the Municipal Act to permit a restructure to effect the annexation of lands between the Corporations of the City of Guelph (“the City”), the Township of Guelph/Eramosa (“the Township”) and the County of Wellington (“the County”).

In accordance with Section 172 and 173 of the Municipal Act 2001, S.O. 2001, notice is hereby given that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Wellington will hold a public meeting to consider a proposal to restructure to effect the annexation of certain lands, set out in the map attached hereto as Schedule “A” from the Township (“the Annexed Lands”) to the City (collectively, the “Restructuring Proposal”) on June 24, 2021 at 9:50 am held virtually via the Zoom platform.

The annexation to the City of the Annexed Lands will serve to facilitate the proper and orderly redevelopment of the Annexed Lands and the provision of services thereto in order to foster the current and future economic and social well-being of the City, the Township and the County.

The purpose of this meeting is to consult with the public on the Restructuring Proposal. The approval of the Councils of the City of Guelph, the Township of Guelph/Eramosa and the County of Wellington will all be required in order to make application to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for approval of the Restructuring Proposal.


Members of the public who wish to provide input on the Restructuring Proposal are required to register with Wellington County Clerks Department before 4:00 pm on June 16 by contacting:
