The County of Wellington provides annual natural Christmas tree collection in urban areas beginning the first full week in January.
All residents also have the opportunity to drop off their natural Christmas trees for free at waste facilities before the end of January.
In addition, there are other collection and drop-off opportunities offered by local organizations throughout the County, as well as creative ways to recycle your tree at home. Learn more here.
Preparation is Important!
Please prepare your natural Christmas tree properly for recycling. Remove all decorations, wire, plastic bags, stands and lights.
For urban collection please note that natural Christmas trees taller than 2.5 m. (8 ft.) will not fit on the truck and must be cut in shorter lengths. Make sure that trees are visibly placed near the curbside, free of snow and ice, and not frozen in place.
