The Green Legacy programme is celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2024! Thank you to everyone who has placed an order and/or planted trees and helped to green our communities. Annually, over 150,000 seedlings are distributed for free to Wellington County residents, local environmental groups, service clubs, schools, and our member municipalities.
Why Choose Green Legacy Trees?
Our trees are grown from locally collected seeds which means they are more adaptable to seasonal temperatures, precipitation, and threats like pests and disease. They also have an increased chance of survival and greater growth potential.

Climate Change Lens
Trees and their soil trap carbon dioxide from the air. Carbon storage is an important action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By planting over 3 million trees throughout Wellington County, the Green Legacy is helping to make a positive environmental impact for years to come. Learn more about our climate change initiatives.
