Chris McIntosh is the owner of Be Sure Financial, a financial advisory, wealth management, and tax planning company located in Arthur. Along with his wife, Bonnie, they purchased the building 8 years ago, hoping to turn it into an office space and apartments.

This has created real good interest in town.”

They found out about the programme after being approached by their local economic development officer. “We were looking to upgrade the property,” Chris recalled. “We wanted to do [the upgrades] even without the funding,” he added. They wished to help take the lead in revitalizing the look of downtown Arthur by transforming the building’s façade and make it look more updated.

As of the interview, Chris is happy to report that the upgrades created a lot of interest, and lots of discussion were created because of the improvements. “This has created real good interest in town,” he added.

When asked about their overall experience, Chris responded by saying that he found it very positive and quite seamless. “I found it encouraging to find both municipality and County are taking interest in their local communities. That interest is a positive statement back to the rural communities that they want to be a stakeholder to community improvement.”
