Home Comfort and Efficiency Retrofits
Here are four steps to optimizing your home energy efficiency and comfort:
Have a registered energy auditor conduct an energy assessment of your home, including a blower door test, a visual inspection and review your energy bills.
Seal your home by caulking leaks, having properly sealed vapour barrier, and Tyvek house wrap to reduce the amount of air that enters or leaves the building to reduce moisture and keep a steady internal temperature.
Insulation is the blanket layer that reduces a variance in temperature. Insulation improves energy efficiency as well as home comfort.
Mechanical systems include heating, air conditioning, as well as hot water heaters, appliances, pool heaters, hot tubs, and other small appliances.
Upgrading to newer and more energy efficient models will reduce energy.
