Discover Local Farms and Flavours at the Taste Real Fall Rural Romp on September 28

Wellington County and Guelph, Ont. – Experience Wellington County’s harvest season during the annual Taste Real Fall Rural Romp on Saturday, September 28 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The self-guided farm and food tour provides unique opportunities to meet Wellington County taste makers, learn about local food and agriculture, and discover food and farm destinations in Southern Wellington County and the City of Guelph.

“Wellington County has a rich agricultural landscape,” said Councillor Jeff Duncan, Wellington County Economic Development Committee Chair. “The Rural Romp offers a unique opportunity for our local farms and food businesses to showcase the excellent work that they do, engage with our community, and provide family-friendly ways to experience the bounty of our region.”

This year’s Fall Rural Romp features 21 different locations throughout Centre Wellington, Erin, Guelph/Eramosa, Puslinch, and the City of Guelph. Each destination has something unique to offer, including: farm tours, wagon rides, local food sampling, farm animals, greenhouse visits, free Green Legacy trees, nature hikes, corn mazes, fall decor, yard and kids games, and hands-on learning activities suitable for all ages.

“We are excited to have an incredible diversity of romp locations this year, promising an exciting mix of experiences for all participants, no matter where you end up,” commented Christina Mann, Manager of Economic Development for the County of Wellington. “Rompers will have plenty of opportunities to discover delicious local food and drink, embrace the fall season through immersive farm experiences, and connect with Wellington County’s agricultural traditions.”

Participants are encouraged to share their Rural Romp adventures on social media using the hashtags #RuralRomp and #TasteReal, and to complete the Rural Romp Treasure Hunt by answering questions at each location for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to a local food business.

For more information, including a list and map of all Fall Rural Romp locations, visit www.tastereal.ca. Printed Romp Maps are available at all participating locations. There is no admission charge to participate but some locations require a fee to access certain activities.
