The County of Wellington is committed to working with non for profits, developers, builders, landlords and homeowners to develop and maintain affordable housing in our area. As Service Manager for Guelph-Wellington, the County has leveraged funding to support the construction of over 300 units of affordable housing in Guelph-Wellington since 2005.
Affordable Housing rents are set at less than or equal to the most recently released Average Market Rent (AMR) levels published by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). Yearly household income must fall below the maximum monthly household limit.
Affordable housing is not accessed through the Centralized Wait List (CWL), all prospective households must apply to the provider directly and meet eligible criteria. Housing applications for Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation (GNPHC), County of Wellington Housing Services (CWHS) and Wellington Housing Corporation (WHC) can be requested by emailing cwlclerk@wellington.ca or by phone at 519.837.5492 x4060.
