Family Support Team
The Family Support Team assists Ontario Works recipients to obtain any financial resource available to them in relation to child, spousal, parental and sponsorship support. Family Support Workers also review various options for obtaining support including the negotiation of support orders and agreements. Where other legal issues are in dispute, such as custody, access and property or the matter is to be heard in a higher court, the Family Support Worker will refer the participant to Legal Aid.
For Ontario Works recipients who are already receiving support, Family Support Workers will work to ensure that the current support amount adequate and is in accordance with the Federal Child Support Guidelines (for child support).
