Wellington County, Ont. – The new version of the Taste Real Local Food Map is now available across Wellington County and Guelph. The map, first published in 2005, is our community’s comprehensive guide to local farms, markets, retailers, and other local food businesses.
The Taste Real Local Food Map is a companion piece to the Food Experience Guide, which features farm outings, food tours, butter tart destinations, pick-your-own locations, eateries, breweries, distilleries, local events, and more.
“Wellington County is quickly becoming the local food destination of southwestern Ontario,” says Jeff Duncan, Chair of the County’s Economic Development Committee. “The Taste Real Local Food Map brings opportunities to learn about and experience local food, while helping residents and visitors explore the area’s many rural destinations and businesses that feature food grown in Wellington County and Guelph.”
The map can be picked up at Wellington County and Guelph libraries, tourism outlets, all participating locations, or residents can request a free copy to be mailed to their homes.
Families are also invited to explore the Farmers’ Market Trail and pick up a passport at any participating farmers’ markets and collect stamps for a chance to win prizes.
