Tree Giveaway Day

TBD! Different trees will be available at each location. The majority of the trees will be Norway Spruce, White Spruce, and Red Pine. 

Tree Giveaways will be happening at all Wellington County Library branches, located in communities across Wellington County. Free Tree Giveaway Day is taking place on Saturday, May 9 and trees will be available beginning when each of the library branches open. Quantities are limited and will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.

Trees must be planted in Wellington County.  You must have permission from the landowner.  Provided they are on your property, you are free to plant the seedlings wherever you like.  Keep in mind, that some places are generally inappropriate to plant such as on septic beds, under power lines, or close to buildings.

When filling in open space we recommend 2-3m spacing.  When planting in rows suggest 2m spacing between trees and 3m spacing between rows.
