Wellington County, Ont. – The County of Wellington invites residents and visitors to experience local food, community connections, and seasonal flavours with the return of the Taste Real Farmers' Market Box Series and Farmers' Market Trail for 2026.
Created in partnership with all seven farmers' markets in Wellington County and the City of Guelph, the Farmers' Market Box Series offers a unique way to explore the people, places, and flavours that define Wellington County's vibrant rural communities.
Every two weeks throughout the summer, a different farmers' market will feature a curated selection of fresh, seasonal food and locally made goods sourced directly from its farmers, producers, and makers. Each Market Box highlights the unique character, products, and stories behind Wellington County's local markets.
This season, each week’s delivery will also include $25 in market bucks (can be used at any Guelph-Wellington farmers’ market) tucked into one lucky order, encouraging recipients to discover even more local food favourites throughout the summer.
"Farmers' markets offer real value, not just in the quality and freshness of what you find, but in what your dollar does for the community," said Warden Chris White. "When you buy directly from the farmer, the money goes directly to them and stays with in Wellington County."
Farmers’ Market Boxes are available for $65 each, with both pickup and home delivery options available on the following Tuesdays:
- Guelph Farmers' Market - June 9
- Elora Farmers' Market - June 23
- Mapleton Farmers' Market - July 7
- Rockwood Farmers' Market - July 21
- Minto Farmers' Market - August 4
- Wellington North Farmers' Market - August 18
- Erin Farmers' Market - September 1
Also returning this year is the Farmers' Market Trail, encouraging residents and visitors to explore Wellington County through its local markets, main streets, and food experiences throughout the summer season. Participants can pick up a Market Trail Passport, collect stamps at participating markets, and discover the unique atmosphere, vendors, and seasonal offerings at each location along the way. Completed passports can be submitted for a chance to win one of three farmers' market gift packs valued at $150 each.
"The Farmers' Market Trail is a summer long local food adventure," said Councillor Jeff Duncan, Chair of the County's Economic Development Committee. "Every market visit is a chance to connect directly with the people behind your food, support the local economy, and experience the unique character of our communities."
According to the Farmers' Markets Ontario Market Customer Profile and Impact Study 2009 Report, 77% of farmers' market vendors are primary producers who grow or produce and sell their own farm products, and they "achieve a significant portion of their income from participation in the markets."
