Wellington County, Ont. – In August, after 41 years with the County, Aldo Salis,
announced his retirement from his role as Director of Planning.
Today, at County Council, Warden Chris White announced that Mr. Curtis Marshall has
been hired as the County’s new Director of Planning.
Mr. Marshall brings 23 years of municipal planning experience to his new role. He has
worked for the County since 2017 and has been the Manager of Development Planning for
the County since 2019.
Mr. Marshall is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a member of the Canadian
Institute of Planners (MCIP). Curtis holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in
Geography with Urban Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. Before coming to the
County, he worked as a Senior Planner for the Town of Halton Hills.
“On behalf of County Council and staff, I am pleased to announce that Mr. Curtis Marshall
has accepted the position of Director of Planning,” said Scott Wilson, Chief Administrative
Officer for the County. “Curtis brings a lot of municipal planning experience to his new role.
I am confident that Curtis will continue to build on the excellent work Aldo Salis has done
for the County over the past 41 years.”
Curtis has an agricultural background and was raised on a family dairy farm in the Town of
Erin. He will begin his new role in mid-October.
