Wellington County, Ont. – Sales are now open for Wellington County’s Holiday Farmers’ Market Boxes, offering a curated selection of products from farmers’ market vendors across Wellington County and Guelph.
Coordinated through the County’s Taste Real programme, the boxes make it easy to shop local, discover new favourites and support the farmers, food producers and makers behind local markets.
“Our farms, markets and food businesses are an important part of Wellington County’s economy and identity,” said Warden Chris White. “Choosing to spend locally helps sustain these businesses and the livelihoods they support. That matters year-round, but it carries particular importance this holiday season.”
This year’s boxes bring together products from seven farmers’ markets including Minto, Mapleton, Wellington North, Elora, Erin, Rockwood, and Guelph. Each box contains a surprise assortment of local food, baked goods, and handmade products. Items may include holiday treats, pantry staples and home or personal care products, ready to give as a gift or enjoy at home.
“Part of the fun is discovering a local producer or a new favourite you might not have come across before,” said Heather Vasey, Economic Development Coordinator. “Whether you’re looking for a gift or something to share around your own holiday table, these boxes make it easy to enjoy a taste of what’s made and grown close to home.”
Boxes are available for $89 and can be ordered until December 1 while supplies last. Orders will be available for pick-up, or delivery to homes across Wellington County and Guelph on December 11.
