Evening and Weekend Dining Room Assistance
We are looking for volunteer assistance in our resident dining rooms for all weekend and evening meals. In this role, you would be assisting residents who can no longer assist themselves at mealtime. This shift would consist of 1.5 hours any evening between 5pm and 6:30pm, or any weekend meal (8am to 9:30am, 12pm to 1:30pm or 5pm to 6:30pm)
One to One Visiting and Strolls Outside
Our residents enjoy one to one conversation and assistance with getting outside during the warmer days; day and time of visits can be flexible. We are particularly looking for male volunteers to provide companionship to some of our male residents
Weekly Games Afternoon
Our Recreation Therapist is looking for a volunteer to facilitate a small group card game afternoon, either on Wednesday or weekend afternoons from 2:00 to 3:00pm. We can be flexible with the day you choose, and the card games can vary with the requests of the residents
Evening Discussion Groups
Our Recreation Therapist is looking for a volunteer to facilitate a discussion group gathering one evening a week with a small group of residents, from 6:30 to 7:30pm. We can be flexible with the evening you choose
Post-Dinner Visits
Some of our residents enjoy one to one conversation after their evening meals. The shift would be approximately 6:30 to 8:00pm and the evenings can be flexible to work with your schedule.
Every THIRD Tuesday Morning Each Month, Artful Ageing Arts Programme Support
Our Recreation Therapists are looking for support from 9:30 to 11:30am to help residents enjoy the Artful Ageing Arts Programme held in the Clearing hall of our Home every third Tuesday morning. No artistic talents required!
Every Tuesday Morning in August and September
We are looking for a volunteer to accompany a resident to and from the Museum every Tuesday morning between 10:00am and 12:00pm while this resident volunteers their time at the Museum
Every Thursday Morning in August and September
We are looking for a volunteer to accompany a resident to and from the Museum every Thursday morning between 11:00am and 12:30pm while this resident volunteers their time at the Museum
Biking Buddy Programme
We are very fortunate to own several accessible bicycles that volunteers can take residents out for rides on the local trail by our Home. This is a very rewarding and physical role for volunteers 18 years of age and older that takes place between mid-May and mid- October each year
Enabling Garden Engagement
We are looking for a volunteer to work alongside our staff to supervise residents in our Enabling Garden, providing refreshments and companionship. One consistent morning per week or weekend would be beneficial, from May to October as weather and availability allows
