Wellington County supports businesses through weekly recycling cart collection in 14 urban areas, and a recycling fee exemption card accepted at County waste facilities.
This support programme has been rolled out in two phases.
2025 February through August – 14 identified downtown areas were visited and offered the opportunity to register for up to two carts to receive weekly recycling collection.
2026 April – Expansion of collection service to all businesses within the 14 identified urban area boundaries.

This exemption card gives Wellington County business owners the option to take acceptable business-generated recyclables to any of the six (6) County waste facilities without charge.
