Wellington County, Ont. – Taste Real’s popular Spring Rural Romp will be taking place this Saturday, May 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at various locations throughout Mapleton, Minto, and Wellington North. The Romp’s self-guided farm and food tour offers attendees a unique opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of Wellington County's agricultural landscape, combined with the opportunity to connect with local taste makers, learn about local food and agriculture, and discover local food destinations in Wellington County.
This weekend’s Spring Rural Romp includes thirteen diverse destinations to explore, including a unique assortment of farms, markets, nurseries, and local food and drink businesses.
“The County’s Taste Real programme is committed to promoting sustainable tourism and supporting our local economy," commented Warden Andy Lennox. "The Rural Romp serves as a platform to connect residents and visitors alike with Wellington County’s incredible agricultural heritage, while fostering an appreciation for the importance of local food and businesses."
The Spring Rural Romp has unique farm and food experiences for participants of all ages, including opportunities to meet farm animals, tour local nurseries, pick up free trees, sample delicious local delicacies, and more. Participants can also take part in the Spring Rural Romp Treasure Hunt Contest, where they can uncover trivia about local food in Wellington and earn chances to win prizes.
