Order Trees

Sign-up anytime! Order open annually on October 1 distribution the following Spring.  We encourage you to create an account in advance. 

How to Sign Up / Create an Account:

1. Visit the Green Legacy Online Order Form.
2. On a mobile device open the menu (three horizontal lines) and click "sign up".  On a desktop click "sign up" in the top right corner.
3. Fill in your full name, email, and address.
4. Staff will then approve your request (provided you meet eligibility requirements).  When approval is granted you will receive and email invitation from “Inflow Showroom.”  You will have two weeks to accept the invitation.  Please check your junk mail if you do not see it in your inbox.  

Please note:  Accounts will be approved weekdays between 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.  

Note: We recommend using a laptop or desktop to place your order.

1. Visit the Green Legacy Online Order Form.
2. On a mobile device open the menu (three horizontal lines) and click "log-in".  On a desktop click "log-in" in the top right corner.
3. Enter your email and password.  First time log-in will prompt you to create a password (minimum 8 characters)
4. View the available products and add them to your cart.
5. Checkout

6. You will receive an email from "Inflow Showroom" as a record of your order.  Please check your junk mail you do not see it in your inbox.  

   If you receive the error message UNABLE TO COMPLETE ORDER it's likely the products in your cart are no longer available.  Please refresh the page.  

To finalize your order you must click the green Checkout button.  If you can’t see it, try the following:

• Refresh your page
• Check your screen resolution and make sure you are viewing the entire page
• View the desktop version on a mobile device
• Use an alternative device

When an order has successfully been submitted you will receive an email from “Inflow Showroom” with a copy for your records.  

Available as of October 1, 2025 at 10:00am. Species not listed on the form are sold out.  This is an extremely popular programme receiving hundreds of orders within the first few minutes.

Online orders placed between October 1, 2025 and March 1, 2026 will be delivered.  Deliveries will occur Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) throughout the month of April, weather permitting. Once your order has been scheduled, you will receive an email to provide you with additional details.  Orders received on or after March 2, 2026 must be picked up at the Bradford Whitcombe Nursery in Puslinch.  

Please note: 

• Seedlings will be delivered, at no charge, to the end of your driveway in rural areas. In urban areas we will try to place your seedlings closer to a building (e.g. garage). 
• Green Legacy staff will make every attempt to place seedlings in a shady spot and away from the road where possible. Our drivers will be in large vehicles, often towing trailers full of trees, and need to keep a timely schedule. Unfortunately, we are unable to pull in driveways for alternate delivery spots.  
• Tree deliveries typically begin in the South end of Wellington County, working towards the North. This allows us to provide trees to customers in the warmest areas first, where the weather is more appropriate for planting earlier in the season.

Orders of 500+ trees have the option of asking for planting assistance.  Green Legacy staff may be able to pair you with a local school group to help plant all your trees (you create your own planting plan).  Green Legacy will facilitate the students planting, however we are unable to send staff planting crews.  These orders may also be eligible for upgrades to potted stock.  

Landowners will be required to provide proof of insurance, minimum $2 Million liability coverage.  For more information please contact the Community Outreach Coordinator.

Online tree orders are accepted October 1st to March 1st.

It is recommended that you order early for best selection as we receive many orders in the first hour.  We do our best to fulfill all species and quantities requested, however they are not guaranteed. 

Seedlings are typically used for restoration purposes and are packaged in bundles of 10.  The minimum request is 1 bundle (10 trees) of the same species.  If you can’t plant them all yourself, feel free to share with your neighbours.  Large orders are encouraged as the programme helps reduce cost barriers to landowners who are looking to plant many trees on farms and larger properties.  For residents looking for only a few (or larger) trees, we also suggest supporting a local retail tree nursery.

Green Legacy trees are grown from locally collected seeds.  The quantities and diversity of species available is affected by nature.  We do our best to grow and distribute stock appropriately among all Programme participants.

On average, the Green Legacy Programme has 40-50 different native species in the inventory.  We grow two non-native species because they have specific uses, and more importantly, they are NOT INVASIVE.

Norway Spruce is the preferred tree to plant for living snow fences.  It has excellent salt tolerance, can grow 2-3 feet per year, and its structure also makes it suitable to withstand snow and ice.

European Larch is a pioneer species that has the ability to grow in poor soils, making it ideal for restoration of degraded land. 

Seedlings are on average 15-40 cm tall and can vary in size depending on species. 

When infilling an open space we recommend 2-3m spacing.  Shrubs can be slightly closer.  When planting in rows for a windbreak, we suggest 2m spacing between trees and 3m spacing between rows.   

Remember to consider if there is any equipment that needs to have access in the planting area.

Trees must be planted in Wellington County.  Provided they are on your own property, you are free to plant the trees wherever you like. Keep in mind that some places are generally inappropriate to plant such as on septic beds or under power lines.

If some seedlings are unavailable, you’ll be placed on a waiting list.  If there are unclaimed trees at the end of distribution, you will be notified if we can offer any of the species missing from your request. 

Mulch mats are coconut fibre mats placed at the base of a seedling to protect against competition and retain moisture. Rodent guards are plastic wraps around tree trunks to protect against rodent damage. Both are available for $1.50 each plus tax and all sales are final.
