Ottawa, Ont.- On Friday, November 22, Scott Wilson, Chief Administrative Officer for the County of Wellington, was presented with a King Charles III Coronation Medal from The Honourable Robert Black, Senator (ON), at a ceremony held at the Senate of Canada.
The Coronation Medal, a Canadian honour, commemorates the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada. To be an eligible candidate, one must have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region, or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is responsible for administering the King Charles III Coronation Medal programme.
“The King Charles III Coronation Medal has been awarded to exceptional Canadians that have distinguished themselves by dedicating their time and efforts to enhancing the lives of those around them,” said The Honourable Robert Black, Senator (ON). “Through the hard work and actions of Scott Wilson, in front and behind the scenes, he has brought honour to his community, our province and nation.”
“Scott Wilson has been a dedicated municipal public servant for over 40 years,” said Warden Andy Lennox. “He’s served as the County’s CAO for over 26 years and was also elected to Town of Orangeville Council for three consecutive terms. On behalf of County Council, our staff, and the residents of Wellington County, I would like to congratulate Scott on this incredible honour. It’s well deserved.”
