Wellington County Museum and Archives Presents Student Art Exhibit: Emerging Insights

Aboyne, ON – Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) is proud to present Emerging Insights, a vibrant new juried exhibition celebrating the creative voices of secondary school artists from across the Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB).

“This exhibit features 23 original artworks selected from over 90 submissions,” commented Doug Breen, Chair of Wellington County’s Information, Heritage and Seniors Committee. “Emerging Insights proudly showcases the outstanding imagination, skill, and originality of local youth.”

Students from Wellington County, Dufferin County, and the City of Guelph are represented in the show, including artists from Centre Wellington District High School and Wellington Heights Secondary School.

“Each piece offers a glimpse into the unique creative perspectives of the next generation,” commented Hailey Johnston, Curator. “We’re proud to partner with the Elora Fergus Arts Council and the UGDSB to celebrate the talents of these young, local artists.”

WCMA hosts the Emerging Insights Opening Reception on Thursday, May 1 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, featuring live music, refreshments, and an awards presentation sponsored by WCMA, the Elora Fergus Arts Council, and generous private donors.

Emerging Insights runs from May 1 until September 30, 2025, with admission by donation. The exhibit draws inspiration from the long-standing Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts, now in its 44th year and on display at WCMA.
