Wellington County and Guelph, Ont.- Wellington-Guelph Housing Services has been recognized by the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH) and Built for Zero Canada for achieving three significant milestones that strengthen the community's ability to prevent and reduce homelessness.
Wellington-Guelph was recognized as:
- The 22nd community in Canada to confirm Quality By-Name Data 4.0 for All Homelessness.
- The 5th community in Canada to achieve Unsheltered Quality By-Name Data 4.0.
- The 8th community in Canada to achieve Coordinated Access Foundations 4.0.
These achievements place Wellington-Guelph among a small group of leading communities across Canada working to improve homelessness response systems through reliable data, coordinated service delivery, and evidence-based decision-making. By meeting national standards, Wellington-Guelph has strengthened its ability to understand local homelessness, connect people with housing supports, improve services, track progress, and advocate for resources based on real-time data.
“These recognitions are a testament to the dedication of staff, service providers, outreach teams, and community partners across Wellington County and Guelph,” said Dave Purdy, Director of Housing Services. “Having high-quality data and a coordinated system allows us to connect people with the supports they need, and work toward reducing homelessness.”
Built for Zero Canada is a national movement led by the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness that supports communities in using real-time data and continuous improvement methods to prevent and end homelessness.
