Join Ignatius Farm and Matt Soltys for a Winter Pruning Workshop in the Community Orchard
The Ignatius Farm Community Orchard, with its mix of young and old fruit trees of mixed species, is the perfect place to learn pruning and other elements of fruit tree care.
This workshop will cover pruning techniques and strategies, how pruning affects tree health and productivity, ideal branch structure, holistic pest management, and more.
The workshop will be led by Matt Soltys, former orchardist at Ignatius Farm, and operator of The Urban Orchardist, a local fruit tree nursery and orchard consulting business.
- 1:00 - 2:00 pm Indoor training in Loyola House
- 2:00 - 4:00 pm Hands on experience outdoors
Please bring your own clean pruning tools. Sanitizing product provided.
