Blue Box Recycling

• Books (hardcover removed)
• Computer paper, writing paper and envelopes
• Magazines and catalogues
• Newspaper and flyers
• Boxboard (cereal, detergent, tissue and frozen food boxes)
• Paper egg cartons, toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls
• Cardboard boxes (flattened)

• Aluminum and metal cans
• Aluminum foil, plates and trays
• Cartons (juice, milk and soup)
• Glass bottles and jars
• Plastic bottles
• Plastic plates or cups, coffee lids
• Plastic tubs
• Plastic fruit baskets and containers
• Plastic flowerpots and trays

• Flatten your cardboard
• Cardboard that doesn't fit into the blue box must be bundled - tie in bundles no bigger than 30 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm
• Cardboard sheets may also be stuffed into an unflattened cardboard box that does not exceed the maximum bundle size - maximum of three cardboard bundles per week, per address
• Stack a heavier blue box on top of a lighter blue box so your recycling doesn't blow away
• Stand paper and cardboard up-and-down instead of laying them flat so they don't blow away

• All bottles, cans, cartons and jars must be empty
• Give your bottles, cans, cartons and jars a quick rinse before recycling
• Place the top of a tin can inside the can to prevent cuts to the sorters
• Do not place any sharp objects with your recyclables (e.g. broken glass) as this is a serious health and safety risk to collectors and sorters
