Piccolo Farm Organics (PFO) is owned and operated by Steve D'Alimonte and Lisa Lopez in the backyard of their property in Guelph, Ontario - the traditional land of the Mississauga, Attiwonderonk, Anishinabe and Haudenosaunee Peoples. On a quarter of an acre, PFO aims to demonstrate that by using non-mechanized and regenerative farming methods, food can be flavourful and healthy to both people and planet. PFO is also a celebration of heritage by showing that culturally specific vegetable varieties from around the world can and should be grown locally.
PFO primarily grows Italian varieties of vegetables or vegetables commonly used in Italian cuisine. Cut greens (salad mix or misticanza, spinach, arugula and rapini) and herbs (basil, oregano and parsley) will be available starting in spring while tomatoes, hot peppers, garlic, onions, eggplant, fennel, beans and squash will be available in mid-summer through the fall. PFO also offers prepared foods such as tomato, pesto sauce and hot sauce.
Items can be purchased at the farm or at local area farmers' markets.
