County of Wellington Invites Residents and Community Partners to Help Shape the Future of Housing

Wellington County and Guelph, Ont.- The County of Wellington is inviting residents and community partners to share their ideas and experiences as part of an update to its Housing and Homelessness Plan: A Place to Call Home.

The plan helps guide how the County and its partners respond to housing needs and homelessness across our communities. Updating the plan will help ensure it continues to reflect local priorities, changing needs, and opportunities to improve housing stability now and in the future.

As part of the update, the County will host a Community Engagement Session where residents and community partners can learn more about the plan and provide valuable input.

Session 1:
Date: Friday, February 13

Location: The Sanctuary at Harcourt Memorial United Church, 87 Dean Avenue, Guelph
Intended audience: Community partners

Session 2:
Date: Thursday, February 19
Time: 1:00 - 3:30 pm

Intended audience: Broader community

Session 3:
Date: Wednesday, February 25
Time: 1:30 - 4:00 pm
Location: Wellington County Museum and Archives, 536 Wellington Road 18, Fergus
Intended audience: Rural community partners

“Community input is essential to ensuring our plan delivers real results for the City of Guelph and Wellington County,” said Dave Purdy, Director of Housing Services. “Hearing from residents who are directly or indirectly impacted by our programme, helps us better understand local housing challenges and needs. This valuable input will help us identify solutions that work for our unique communities.”

Feedback gathered through the engagement process will help inform priorities and actions in the updated Housing and Homelessness Plan.
