Due to the Canada Post Strike, the following changes are in effect for the Ontario Works clients and third-party vendors:
For Ontario Works Clients:
- Cheques and Payment Cards: Cheques and Reloadable Payment Cards will not be distributed in the mail.
- Cheque Pick-Up: Clients who typically receive cheques in the mail must contact their caseworker to make arrangements to pick-up at an Ontario Works office.
- October benefit cheques (dated September 30, 2025) will be available for pick-up between 10am – 3pm starting on Monday September 29th.
- Letters and Payment Statements: These will not be mailed and will be held until the strike concludes.
- MyBenefits Registration: Clients are encouraged to register for MyBenefits to access letters and payment details online.
- Direct Bank Deposits: These will continue without interruption.
For Ontario Works Third Party Vendors:
- Direct Bank Deposits: These will continue without interruption.
- Cheques: Cheques will not be mailed throughout the strike, consider registering for direct bank deposit.
- Contact the Ontario Works office at 519-837-2670 to make arrangements for an authorized individual cheque pick up at one of the Ontario Works offices.
