Wellington County Accessibility Advisory Committee Requires a Committee Member

The County of Wellington is seeking a community member to join the Accessibility Advisory Committee. The community member must be actively involved with organizations for people with disabilities, be a caregiver for people with disabilities, or a person living with a disability as defined by the Ontario Human Rights Code.

The mandate of the Accessibility Advisory Committee is to:

  • Advise all member Municipal Councils and the County proper on the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to people with disabilities, including the preparation, review and evaluation accessibility plans.
  • Advise all member Municipal Councils and the County proper on other accessibility-related issues within the County.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee meets four times per year and committee members will be compensated for mileage and per diem.

Applicants must reside in the County of Wellington and be over 18 years of age. As per the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, a majority of the committee members will include people with disabilities.
